Welcome to Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy: An Introduction!
This online event is your chance to learn about the fascinating world of biodynamic craniosacral therapy. Join us for an informative session where you’ll discover the principles and benefits of this gentle yet powerful modality. Whether you’re new to the practice or looking to deepen your understanding, this event is perfect for anyone interested in health and well-being. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to explore the transformative potential of biodynamic craniosacral therapy!
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) has evolved from and developed beyond more mechanistic approaches to craniosacral therapy (CST).
It emphasises a more integrative approach embedded in a direct relationship with the dynamic processes taking place in the living system and thus entails a paradigm shift from a mechanistic orientation to a truly dynamic one. This approach recognises that the organising forces at work within the developing embryo are still at work in the eighty-year old. These forces are epigenetic. They underlie and precede genetic expression.
These organising forces influence the fluids and the tissues of the body in a way that continuously expresses an inherent ordering principle in life. Osteopath Rollin E. Becker (1910-1996) called these forces the ‘biodynamic’ forces. They inherently arise from within the organism and are integrally involved with the maintenance of health. This maintenance of health can require the centering of disturbances imposed on the organism by biokinetic forces present in the environment (structural, biochemical, emotional). This centering of the disturbance creates symptomatic manifestations in the body.
BCST engages with the underlying biodynamic forces rather than with the symptoms themselves. Such engagement supports and enhances the self-healing capacity of the body thus potentially resolving the symptoms within the core of their origin rather than in their surface manifestation. Therapeutic listening lies at the core of BCST. The listening presence of the practitioner engages with the living forces present within the client rather than introducing external biokinetic forces.
